Whether connecting a rigid dryer duct or a flexible duct to the Kenmore dryer, it is necessary to secure the exhaust with clamps. The clamps resemble typical hose clamps that are on most other hoses. Once the exhaust duct is on the dryer, the clamp secures it in place and helps provide a tight seal. The exhaust duct connects from the dryer to the outside wall vent. Connecting a Kenmore dryer exhaust with clamps is generally the same as doing it with any other brand of dryer. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Place one end of the dryer exhaust hose at the outside dryer vent where it enters the room, and the other end of the exhaust hose at the rear of the Kenmore dryer.
2. Turn the screw on the 4-inch hose clamps counterclockwise with a nut driver until the clamps are wide enough to slip over the exhaust hose. Slide a clamp over each end of the exhaust hose. Continue sliding the clamps down until each one is six inches from the end of the hose.
3. Slide the end of the hose over the exhaust port on the back of the Kenmore dryer. The end of the vent should make contact with the rear panel of the dryer. Push the clamp toward the dryer until it is around the hose and exhaust port.
4. Turn the clamp as necessary until the screw head is pointing toward the ceiling. Tighten the screw with the nut driver to secure the exhaust hose to the dryer exhaust.
5. Repeat the process for the outside dryer vent pipe inside the room. The end of the dryer exhaust hose should be against the wall when tightening the clamp.
