Ford 302 Cam Specs

Ford Motor Company's iconic 302 motor was introduced in 1964. It was a V8 made by adding the cylinder heads of Ford's Cleveland motor to the four-bolt block of the Ford Windsor motor. The heads in the 302 engine were of "tunnel port" design, first used in the 427 "FE" motor. In late 2010, seven different camshafts were available for 302 engines by Ford Racing.

M-6250-A311 Camshaft

The M-6250-A311 camshaft has 1.60 rocker ratio and it uses a hydraulic lifter. The intake opens at 5 degrees and closes at 29 degrees, while the exhaust opens at 44 degrees and closes at 10 degrees. The intake lobe center of the M-6250-A311 is at 107 degrees, while the exhaust lobe center is at 117 degrees.

M-6250-A312 Camshaft

The M-6250-A312 camshaft is similar to the M-6250-A311 camshaft in that it uses a hydraulic lifter and has a 1.60 rocker ratio. It also has an intake lobe center of 107 degrees and an exhaust lobe center of 117 degrees. The M-6250-A312 is different from the M-6250-A311 in its intake and exhaust events, as it has an intake opening of 0 degrees, an intake closing of 34 degrees, an exhaust opening of 49 degrees and an exhaust closing of 5 degrees.

M-6250-B303 Camshaft

The M-6250-B303 camshaft also has a 1.60 rocker ratio, but it uses a hydraulic roller for a lifter. Its intake opens at 5 degrees and closes at 39 degrees, while its exhaust opens at 49 degrees and closes at 5 degrees. Like most other camshafts for the 302, the M-6250-B303 has an intake lobe center of 107 degrees and an exhaust lobe center of 117 degrees.

M-6250-E303

Like the M-6250-B303 camshaft, the M-6250-E303 camshaft uses a hydraulic roller and a 1.60 rocker ratio. Its intake and exhaust events are different, however: Its intake opens at 0 degrees and closes at 40 degrees, and its exhaust opens at 40 degrees and closes at 0 degrees. Its interior and exhaust lobe centers are also different, both at 110 degrees.

M-6250-F303

The M-6250-F303 camshaft has an intake lobe center of 109 degrees and an exhaust lobe center of 119 degrees. Its exhaust opens at 52 degrees and closes at 6 degrees, while its intake opens at 4 degrees and closes at 42 degrees. It has a 1.60 rocker ratio and uses a hydraulic roller.

M-6250-X303

The M-6250-X303 camshaft's intake opens at 5 degrees and closes at 39 degrees. Its exhaust opens at 49 degrees and closes at 5 degrees. It has an intake lobe center of 107 degrees and an exhaust lobe center of 117 degrees. The M-6250-X303 uses a hydraulic roller and has a 1.60 rocker ratio.

M-6250-Z303

The M-6250-Z303 camshaft has an intake lobe center of 107 degrees and an exhaust center of 117 degrees. Its intake opens at 7 degrees and closes at 41 degrees, while its exhaust opens at 51 degrees and closes at 3 degrees. Like each of the other 302 camshafts, the M-6250-Z303 has a rocker ratio of 1.60. It uses a hydraulic roller.
