Virtual DJ is a computer program that allows you to mix and master different audio clips, most notably MP3 tracks. It also allows you to mix video clips to be projected while you play the music. The program is typically sold for about $239.00 (as of October 2009). However, there is a free version of the software available. The version is just like the for-purchase DJ software, but it has a 20-day limitation. Once the time frame is up, the product needs to be purchased in order to be continually used.
Instructions
1. Navigate to the website provided in "Resources." This site provides both the free download and the full version available for purchase.
2. Select "Free Download" to load a new page. Click "Mirror 1" to begin the download.
3. Launch the downloaded file by double-clicking either the new icon on the desktop or in a pop-up "Downloads" folder. This opens the Virtual DJ installation wizard.
4. Read through the license agreement. Accept the agreement by checking the approval box and click "Next." You are not allowed to proceed with the installation if you do not accept the license agreement.
5. Follow the remaining prompts to complete the Virtual DJ installation process. It is a larger file so the installation is going to take a few minutes to complete.
