Collect Coke Bottle Caps

Coke is not only one of the world's favorite drinks, but people also love to collect Coca-Cola memorabilia. Coke has made everything from mirrors to coolers to figurines and more. If you are a pure traditionalist and all about the Coke bottle, here are some tips on collect Coke bottle caps.

Instructions

1. Define your collection. There have literally been thousands of Coke bottle caps produced since the soda was first produced. To try and collect all of them would leave your collection scattered about. Focus on the time period, bottle, country or other unique aspect of the Coke brand to begin your collection. Then if you have satisfied that piece of it, you can start collecting a different generation of coke bottle cap.

2. Keep yourself up to date on accurate pricing for your Coke bottle cap collection. You want to make sure that you are not overpaying for items. Many times when you visit an antique store, there is a mark up. This is because the owner expects you to barter and they have your undivided attention. You're probably not going to drive 30 miles to a different store to save $5. The best way to learn the true price of an item is to see what they sell for at auction. This includes online auction sites like eBay and regular auctions held in person. This is because the final price is what the "market bears" and therefore its true value. Research each Coke bottle cap before you purchase it.

3. Spread the word about your Coke bottle cap collection. You would be amazed how many people would be happy to give you their Coke bottle caps. If they see no intrinsic value or aren't interested in collecting, you're probably doing a favor taking something they consider "trash" off their hands. Post on community sites and forums. Be specific about what you're looking for and see who contacts you.

4. Join a Coca-Cola club. There are many collecting clubs all over the Internet filled with people who share your passion. When you join the community of like minded individuals (like one specific club called "Coca-Cola Club") you would be amazed at how much access you'll have to merchandise.

5. Visit flea markets and tag sales. The best place to go for collecting knick-knacks is always a flea market. This is because you have many vendors all squished next to each other competing for your business. One of the more popular merchandise companies is Coke at these flea markets.

6. Keep your collection pristine. Bottle caps, like many other collectible items, are vulnerable to wear and tear. Keep your Coke bottle caps encased in hard plastic and stored in a cool, dark dry place. This will keep the colors pristine and avoid any chance of them getting bent. Then when you want to show your family and friends, simply bring them out.
