Instructions

1. Call your local City Hall and apply for the permits needed to build the pool. The permit office at City Hall should have a list of all the permits you will need.

2. Plan out the plumbing for the pool. You will need to contact your water company to find out drain the water properly.

3. Decide where you want the lap pool to be. A lap pool is normally between 5 and 10 feet wide and 40 and 75 feet long.

4. Mark the boundaries of the pool by placing wooden stakes in the ground showing the measurements of the pool.

5. Dig the shallow markings of the outline of the pool with a shovel.

6. Rent a heavy-duty device to dig the interior of the pool.

7. Connect the water lines to the pool.

8. Mix the concrete for the cement to be poured into the pool.

9. Pour the concrete. First cover the bottom of the pool and then pour for the sides of the pool, and finally pour for the rim of the pool.

10. Lay pool tiles along the top perimeter of the pool. Begin below the water line and make sure the tiles reach the top of the pool perimeter.
