Dallas Romantic Anniversary Ideas

Celebrate your anniversary with a romantic dinner for two.

Dallas, Texas is the ninth largest city in the nation, with 13 entertainment districts and year-round moderate weather. These attributes make Dallas the ideal place to celebrate your anniversary as its size and climate contribute to a number of indoor and outdoor date options. To make your anniversary a romantic event to remember, consider what your significant other likes and incorporate those ideas into your anniversary celebration.

Romantic Dinner and a Ride

If you like live music, the House of Blues in Dallas is the ideal place for a romantic dinner. Entrees include steak, grilled salmon and beef tenderloin. After a dinner accompanied by live music and dancing, board the McKinney Avenue Transit Authority (MATA) and sightsee on the M-Line, the only transit line in North Texas that operates restored antique electric trolley cars, on Dallas's oldest original trolley tracks. Passengers ride through historic uptown, where they can enjoy live music and dancing, art galleries, sidewalk cafes and upscale retail stores. All rides are free, but donations are appreciated.

Romantic Evening Away

Treat your significant other to a night of romance with an overnight stay at the Marriott Hotel in Legacy Town Center, just off the Dallas North Tollway. This 404-room luxury hotel is within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and bars. Area attractions include a cinema that plays independent films, Cru, a wine bar, Benihana, a Japanese-style restaurant, Bobs, a steak and chop house, and Woodhouse Day Spa. If you prefer a more intimate night, order room service, run a bubble bath and give each other massages. Before your spouse arrives, decorate the room with roses and candles and play soft music.

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens

Begin your anniversary celebration with an intimate picnic at Dallas's Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, which features 66 acres of beautiful flowers, sculpted gardens and lawns. Pack a picnic for two, grab a blanket and enjoy the intimate setting the Arboretum offers. If you are celebrating your anniversary between April and October, you can enjoy a concert in the garden during the evening following your picnic. Most performances are from bands in the area; concert passes are necessary to attend. Or, opt for a night at the Galaxy Drive-In Theater, located 20 miles south of Dallas. It is open seven days a week, and you get to view two feature movies for the price of one.
