You can pay for service with your Visa gift card.
During the holiday season or for your birthday, people always seem to hand out gift cards as presents. This includes the Visa gift card. You can use the plastic anywhere Visa is accepted, just like a credit card. However, if you want to convert the Visa gift card to a different form of currency, a few options are available to you.
Instructions
1. Take your Visa gift card to an ATM. If the card reads "Debit" and if a PIN number is provided, you can withdraw funds from the gift card in cash.
2. Visit a website that offers other gift card options, such as MasterCard or American Express. Purchase a new card and pay for it with your Visa gift card. Place all the money on the new card; you now have a differently branded gift card.
3. Ask for cash back from the cashier at the store where you are using the Visa gift card. The clerk adds money to the overall charge and gives you cash back, which is then subtracted from the overall balance on your gift card.
