Build Prom Tuxedos Online

One of the most challenging aspects for teenage guys heading for prom is the selection of the "perfect" prom tuxedo. With so many tuxedo styles available, it is possible to spend days or weeks traipsing from tuxedo shop to tuxedo shop to find the style that is right for you. Building your prom tuxedo doesn't have to be complicated or difficult, though, and you may be able to find the perfect fit without ever having to leave your home.

Instructions

1. Consider the prom theme or color and style of your date's dress. If you're heading to prom with your guy friends then you can choose the color and style you want. If you're going to prom with a date then you'll want to consider the style and color of your date's dress to make sure your outfits complement each other rather than clash. The theme of the prom may also play a role so that you choose a tuxedo design that fits the occasion. Choose a general style category for your tuxedo. Some style categories may include traditional, flashy or retro tux design.

2. Choose the color of the cummerbund (or vest) and tie that matches perfectly with the dress of your prom date. Take into account the color as well as the design of her dress to ensure that these blend with your prom tuxedo. Some tuxedo stores also offer print designs rather than plain color options.

3. Take your measurements with the help of someone who can perform the task accurately before starting to build your tuxedo online. Write each measurement down. Include your weight and height and take the measurements for your inseam, arm, neck, chest and waist. Your waist measurement is taken starting at the navel and winding the tape measure around the circumference of your body at this level. You'll need the measurement numbers available to start building your prom tuxedo online.

4. Develop the design of your tuxedo using online support. Several websites allow you to custom design your prom tuxedo. Make sure that you finalize the design of your tuxedo at least a month before the event. When you go to the website, you'll be able to choose the style, colors and sizes that you need for each piece of your tuxedo. You'll want to place your order within a month of prom to ensure you can rent the style and size tuxedo you need and want.

5. If you ordered the tuxedo from the website of a local store then you'll need to pick up your tuxedo. You'll typically do this one or two days before prom so that you have the opportunity to try it on and make sure everything fits properly. Some online tuxedo stores will deliver the tuxedo directly to your home. Even if they do not have a store located near you, they typically have agreements with local stores for last minute exchanges. These tuxedos are typically shipped in advance so there is time to amend measurements or make adjustments before the day of prom.
