Connect Xbox 360 to a Wireless PC
The XBOX 360 console has many extra features that allow it to be an all-in-one entertainment center instead of just a means to play video games. You can connect your console to a personal computer through a wireless network connection so that you can listen to music, watch movie clips, or access the XBOX live marketplace.
Instructions
1. Take the male USB connector on the wireless network adapter and plug it into the female USB port on the back of the XBOX 360 console. Snap the white plastic piece with the wireless antenna into the slot next to the USB port.
2. Access your PC that is connected to your wireless router. Open the "Start" menu at the bottom task bar of your desktop and then click on the "Control Panel" link. Double-click on the icon that says "Network And Sharing Center" if your computer is running Windows Vista or "Network Center" if you are using an older version of Windows.
3. Check to see the name of the wireless network which should be located just next to the name you've designated for the computer. Make a note of the name as you will have to use it later.
4. Turn on your XBOX 360 console and access the controller menu by pressing the center "X" button. Use the D-Pad or thumb stick to scroll over to the "Settings" list. Highlight the option marked as "System Settings" and press the "A" button. Choose the "Network Settings" option.
5. Type in the name of your network into the text field and then hit the "A" button again. Go back to your computer and open up the "Network and Sharing Center" again. Click on the link that says "View Computers and Devices." Wait for the list of devices to populate and then double-click on the name of your computer. Click on "Yes" when a box pops up and asks if you want to connect to the XBOX 360.
