Homemade Cellulite Body Wrap

Freshly ground coffee is a fantastic pre-wrap scrub.

Making a homemade body wrap to reduce cellulite is a somewhat involved procedure, but certainly doable, and at a fraction of the cost of professional spa wraps. The three keys to a successful wrap are heat, hydration, and exfoliation. Make sure the temperature of the room is warm enough to allow for maximum absorption of the ingredients through the skin. Especially with the warmer room temperature, however, it is important to make sure you are adequately hydrated. Also, any toxins eliminated by the wrap will be excreted via the urinary tract, so drinking plenty of water before and after is advisable. For optimal absorption of wrap ingredients, exfoliate thoroughly to remove the surface layer of dead skin cells. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Exfoliation

1. In the glass jar, mix coffee grounds, hazelnuts, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Add the olive, almond, and jojoba oil, and stir. Finally, add the orange essential oil, and mix until it is evenly distributed. Store the scrub in a glass jar with a lid that seals tightly.

2. In the shower or bath, after cleansing your skin, apply the coffee scrub by massaging into the skin in a circular motion. If the scrub is irritating or breaking the skin, too much pressure is being used.

3. Rinse thoroughly.

Creating and Using the Wrap

4. Make sure the temperature settings in the room are warm, but not so hot as to be uncomfortable.

5. Dried ginger root powder is a key component of this body wrap.

Mix the dry ingredients for the cellulite wrap (clay, ginger powder, and Epsom salts). Add the boiling water, and stir to incorporate.

6. Apply the paste mixture to the desired areas, massaging a little to help increase absorption.

7. Taking the thin towels, tightly wrap the desired areas. Make sure they are wrapped securely, but not so tight as to cut off circulation. Lie down and relax for about 40 minutes, keeping the wrappings securely in place.

8. Remove the wrappings and rinse off in the tub.
