Disable A Screen Saver In Safe Mode

Safe mode is a diagnostic mode of your computer that allows limited functionality of the operating system. A number of drivers, services and third-party applications are reduced in limitation or stopped entirely from operating in safe mode. With few components and applications running, technicians and users are able to troubleshoot, diagnose, find and eliminate problems more quickly and easily. If you cannot disable your screensaver in normal mode and think it might be caused by a running service or process, then getting your computer in safe mode and disabling it will give you some insight as to what may be causing it.

Instructions

1. Shut down and start up your computer while repeatedly tapping the "F8" key on your keyboard. This will load you into the "Windows Advanced Options" screen.

2. Select "Safe Mode" in the list of options and press "Enter" on your keyboard.

3. Click "Yes" to continue loading into safe mode when prompted to do so. You should now be in safe mode.

4. Right-click on an empty area on your Windows desktop and choose "Personalize."

5. Click on "Screen Saver."

6. Choose none from the screen saver list to disable your screen saver in safe mode.

7. Restart your computer to boot up into normal mode.
