Afford Cosmetic Surgery After Weight Loss

Cosmetic surgery after weight loss is often too expensive for many to consider. Unless you can have a doctor verify your medical need for it, insurance companies will not pay for cosmetic surgery, as they consider it an elective surgery, meaning it's optional. In order to afford cosmetic surgery after weight loss, you must be willing to be creative. Consider how important the end result is, and this will motivate you to find a way to afford the surgery.

Instructions

1. Offer to become a spokesperson for your surgeon or clinic once the surgery is complete. Set a time limit (for instance, one year) where you will promote the clinic, agree to have before and after photographs taken, and possibly be in commercials or other advertisements. In exchange for allowing the surgeon to show off his work, you might be able to receive cosmetic surgery for little to no cost.

2. Set up a payment plan. Some clinics will do this at no charge, while others will refer to you an outside financing source. Visit a few reputable surgeons to get an idea of what such payment plans will cost per month, and what type of down payment may be required.

3. Start a blog where you can discuss your weight loss, and sign up for a web advertising service to earn money. A blog could be a great outlet and an avenue to help others who desire to lose weight. You will need to promote your blog and gain a following to earn any substantial income. This income can then be put toward your cosmetic surgery fund.

4. Pick up a second job as a newspaper carrier, landscaper, or something else that requires physical work. This will help you keep the weight off, and you can put that extra income toward your cosmetic surgery. Try to keep the big picture in mind, and think of what you will look like once you have the cosmetic surgery. This will help you plow through the hours of a second job much more easily.

5. Take out a home equity loan, or money out of a retirement/savings account. While this is not the best financial move, if you really want the surgery, you may want to consider going for it. After weight loss, you may have difficulty carrying around a lot of extra skin, so using money from these sources might be beneficial for your mental well-being.
