How Transfer Downloaded Music To My Ipod

Sync music to your iPod with iTunes.


No matter what type of iPod you have, the iTunes application is required to sync music, playlists and videos to your iPod. Besides using iTunes to manually or automatically transfer music to your iPod, you can also use it to buy and download music directly from the iTunes store. Whether you are using a Mac or Windows computer, use iTunes to transfer your music downloads from your computer to any iPod device.


Instructions


Manual Transfer


1. Download the latest version of the iTunes software from Apple.com/iTunes, if necessary. All Mac computers come with iTunes installed.


2. Connect the iPod to the dock end of the USB cable, and then plug the connector end of the USB cable into your computer's USB port.


3. Open the iTunes software on your computer.


4. Select the name of your iPod under the "Devices" section on the left side of the iTunes window.


5. Click the "Summary" tab in the iTunes browser window.


6. Click the box next to "Manually manage music and videos," and then click the "Apply" button.


7. Click "Music" under the "Library" section on the left side of the iTunes window.


8. Select the downloaded music that you want to transfer to your iPod.


9. Drag and drop the music onto the iPod icon under the "Devices" section.


10. Wait for iTunes to transfer the music to your iPod. The message "iPod sync is complete" will appear at the top of the iTunes window when your music has been transferred.


11. Select the name of your iPod under the "Devices" section, then click the "Eject" icon to disconnect your iPod when you are done.


Automatic Transfer


12. Download the latest version of the iTunes software from Apple.com/iTunes, if necessary. All Mac computers come with iTunes installed.


13. Connect the iPod to the dock end of the USB cable, then plug the connector end of the USB cable into your computer's USB port.


14. Open the iTunes software on your computer.


15. Select the name of your iPod under the "Devices" section on the left side of the iTunes window.


16. Click the "Music" tab in the iTunes browser window.


17.Click the box next to "Sync Music," and then select any other preferences.


18. Click the "Apply" button, and wait for iTunes to begin transferring the downloaded music to your iPod. The message "iPod sync is complete" will appear at the top of the iTunes window when your music has been transferred.


19. Select the name of your iPod under the "Devices" section, then click the "Eject" icon to disconnect your iPod when you are finished.
