Car enthusiasts, individuals who investigate new car options, car collectors and people who just want to see what's new in the world of automobiles can find exciting car shows near Minneapolis. Car shows allow people to see classic cars as well as the industry's new models up close. And they give the auto industry a forum for introducing their new lines. Some car shows run yearly while others occur weekly.


Twin Cities Auto Show


On March 12, 2011, the Minneapolis Convention Center will be the site of the annual Twin Cities Auto Show, which is organized by the Greater Metropolitan Automobile Dealers Association. The show, which runs until March 20, brings exhibitors who present the latest car models and car parts. These exhibitors include auto manufacturers, interior and exterior vehicle tool and accessories vendors, merchants for vehicle assembling systems and others. Now in its 38th year, the Auto Show provides a platform for foreign and domestic manufacturers, service providers and producers to display their latest designs, car models and car accessories.


O'Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels


The Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels runs at the River Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, for four days in February 2011. The show showcases a wide variety of classic cars and their parts. O'Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels encourages classic car owners to display their cars, offering them the chance to win monetary prices in a variety of categories, including Best Club Display, Outstanding Street Rod, Best Custom and Outstanding Full/Rad/Custom. Auto parts vendors may rent booths at the smarket their merchandise.


Car Craft Magazine Summer Nationals


The GM Performance Division brings its Car Craft Magazine Summer Nationals to the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul on July 22-24, 2011. The presentation showcases more than 5,000 street machines and muscle cars. The event presents feature cars as well as all makes and models of two-wheel-drive vehicles. The Summer Nationals will give out more than 100 awards to exhibited cars and trucks and feature a Miss Car Craft Summer Nationals contest, a burnout contest and the Real Street Eliminator of the Year award to the car that presents the best braking, handling and horsepower generating abilities.
