Visitors to Orange County can enjoy beautiful beaches, mild weather conditions, fine dining, and some of the best car shows in the country. Custom, classic, vintage and antique car shows draw crowds of thousands each year. Many of the shows are non-profit charity events focused on providing family-oriented activities as well as allowing car owners to display their vehicles for awards. These cross-generational shows provide entertainment for all.
Orange Plaza Car Show
The Orange Plaza Car Show held in Orange, California is hosted by the Orange Sunrise Rotary Club and draws about 15,000 exhibitors and spectators each year. The cars on display are limited to pre-1975 street rods, custom and classic models. Trophies and awards will be given to registered participants. The registration fee is $40 for all who wish to participate and be judged. This event is designed for the entire family with no admission fee for spectators, and local businesses welcome visitors. The proceeds from the car show benefit the local YMCA through the Orange Sunrise Rotary Club.
Muckenthaler Motor Car Festival
This car festival features two days of car displays, unique dining experiences, live music and a special gallery show of car-themed artwork. Billed as the oldest and grandest car show in North Orange County, it features the finest classics of the automobile industry. Registration is $30 for cars and $15 for motorcycles. The cars are displayed over an area that exceeds 8 acres. Hot rods and Concours D'Elegance vehicles will be available for viewing. Cars range from those dating back to 1900 in all categories. All proceeds from the show benefit the Muskenthaler Cultural Center.
Megular's Orange County Get Together
Costa Mesa is the host city for an indoor car show showing various unique vehicles. All makes, years and models of American cars will be on display. Traditional activities include vendor exhibits, live entertainment, the famous cruise line and even an outdoor midway for family entertainment. Registration fee is $60 for the weekend. General admission is $15 for adults.
Saturday Sunrise Car Cruisers
According to the Huntington Beach website, this is probably the best free car show in the world. It has been held every Saturday morning for about 20 years. Many classic car owners get together to visit, show off their rides and have a good time. Woodies, rat rods, custom roadsters and Chrysler concept cars are the highlight of the weekly cruises.
